World Water Day
The annual World Water Day is an international day dedicated to water. In 1992, the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution to declare March the 22th of every year from 1993 on, to be World Water Day. On that day, the Member States are called upon to make the global water problem known to a wide public, by organizing events and disseminating information about water.
World Water Day goal
The aim of World Water Day activities is to promote disaster preparedness, knowledge sharing at the regional level and to raise public awareness of the various elements of water related disasters. It is also intended to inspire political and community action worldwide to prevent and alleviate water-related disasters so that lives and property can be saved. In addition, the actions organized from World Water Day must contribute to the Millennium Development Goal with regard to reducing poverty and building sustainable development.
Digital initiatives World Water Day
This year’s World Water Day, with the theme “Valuing water”, asks: What does water mean to me? The value of water is profound and complex. This year its theme is focused on ´Water2me´. On the occasion of world water day, we show our most stunning dress in blue from the MISS collection. Blue is seen as the color of trust, clear communication and reliability. As it is the tone that inhabits the sea and rocks the oceans, it is a color that brings inspiration. What does water mean to you?
